Guard Reggie Arceneaux and forward Jerran Young
combined for four free throws in the final 14 seconds to help lift Wright State to a 58-53 Horizon League victory over Illinois-Chicago on Sunday night at Dayton's Nutter Center.
The Raiders (11-8, 3-2) trailed 53-49 with 3:29 to play when Arceneaux hit a 3 pointer and took the lead for good when forward AJ Pacher' jumper gave them a 54-53 lead with 2:42 showing.
Pacher closed with 17 points, Young had 13 and Arceneaux added 10 as Wright State won its sixth in its last seven games.
Guard Kelsey Barlow scored a game-high 19 points, guard Marc Brown had 14 and forward Jordan Harks
pulled down 11 rebounds for the Flames (5-12, 0-3) who have now lost six straight.
Flames freshman guard Pat Birt hit three free throws with 1:07 left in the first half for a 27-24 Flames lead. Pacher's two free throws with one second left trimmed Illinois-Chicago's halftime lead to 27-26.
The Raiders broke a 23-23 series tie.
Illinois-Chicago entertains Milwaukee on Thursday while league-leading Green Bay is at Wright State on Friday.
