DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - December 15, 2016) - True Believers, Assemble! Marvelous Nerd Year's Eve will host the setting of a new Guinness World Record, led by none other than Stan Lee, comics legend and the creator of the iconic Marvel superhero, Spider-Man.
Slated to be Lee's final Texas Convention appearance, Marvelous Nerd Year's Eve is the site of a unique world record attempt, gathering the "Most People Dressed As Spider-Man in One Location." The record attempt begins at 6:00 pm on Friday, December 30, with signups available either on-site or online at MarvelousNYE.com.
Marvelous Nerd Year's Eve is a four-day pop culture celebration, commemorating Stan Lee's 94th birthday and culminating in a New Year's Eve throwdown spanning three stages and featuring a wide variety of music and entertainment. Celebrity guests include Michael Rooker (THE WALKING DEAD, MARVEL'S GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY), Ming-Na Wen (MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.), Nichelle Nichols (STAR TREK), and Jason Mewes (CLERKS).
Over three dozen celebrity guests from the worlds of film, television, comics and animation will attend the event across the four-day weekend, signing autographs and taking photos with fans from around the world.
The event also features a "celebrity roast" of Stan Lee in honor of his 94th birthday. Instructional panels on writing, filmmaking, makeup effects and more, a 24-hour film race with attending celebrities acting in the productions, film screenings, a costume contest, and multiple after-hours parties leading up to the big night on December 31.
