World Peace dons Cookie Monster pajamas, defuses situation

A sleepy Metta World Peace thought he was under attack by terrorists earlier this week when police surrounded his condo complex around midnight. He had just watched "Zero Dark Thirty" earlier and thought he was dreaming after his son came into his bedroom and told him police were at his door.

"I'm like, 'What happened?' I don't know what's going on at this point," World Peace told the Los Angeles Times "And then the police was like, 'The building is being taken over by guys downstairs.'"

World Peace was unaware that "guys downstairs" were actors rehearsing a scene for a movie being released by his Artest Media Group. The men were in full dress rehearsal with fake guns.

According to the Times, World Peace put on Cookie Monster pajamas and went outside and was stunned by what he saw.

"Like 20 cops' cars are outside, like 10 more police," he told the Times. "My brother had his hands behind his back and [there were] helicopters. The whole Wilshire [Blvd.] was shut down. The street shut down. No cars nowhere."

After a few minutes, and World Peace had brokered the peace, the situation was defused and he had advice for the aspiring actors.

"The police was laughing," World Peace said. "It was funny, but it was irresponsible on the actors' part because you do the scene and that's it. They didn't understand that after you do the scene, you put the stuff away."
