Free agent safety Charles Woodson will visit with the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday, his agent told ESPN.
Woodson, 36, was released by the Green Bay Packers earlier this offseason. He has visited with the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos, but has not received an offer. Agent Carl Poston said the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants have also shown some interest in Woodson.
Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons as a cornerback for the Raiders after being the fourth overall pick in the 1998 draft out of Michigan. He joined the Packers in 2006 and spent the past seven seasons with Green Bay.
According to Poston, the Raiders have already made an initial contract offer. Oakland released veteran safety Michael Huff this offseason and doesn't have a ready-made replacement on the roster.
Woodson has said he would prefer to play for a Super Bowl contender, but has received tepid interest on the market.
