MILWAUKEE -- The Chicago Wolves completed a six-game road trip with a 4-3 win Friday night in Milwaukee, but the Admirals did not make it easy.

The Wolves held three separate two-goal leads throughout the game, but had to hang on as Milwaukee scored twice in the third period to make it close.

The Wolves were led by goaltender Jake Allen, who stopped 23 shots on the night, including 13 in the first period alone. Left wing Chris Porter, left wing Dmitrij Jaskin, center Pat Cannone, and center Corey Locke tallied for Chicago, while defenseman Scott Ford, right wing Taylor Beck and center Mathieu Tousignant scored for Milwaukee.

The first period saw a flurry of goals, including three from the Wolves (8-6-0-1).

Porter kicked off the scoring with a shorthanded goal five minutes into the contest to put Chicago up early. Jaskin dented the net minutes later to increase the lead.

Ford tallied for Milwaukee (7-3-2-1) at 13:08 to get the Admirals within one, but Cannone gave the Wolves a two-goal cushion again with just over a minute left in the frame.

After a scoreless second, Milwaukee tallied a power-play goal 1:55 into the final period to put pressure on the Wolves. As Allen (8-3-1), drawn right by the play, tried to change directions, Beck received a pass from the corner and beat him on the left side.

The Wolves sealed the win with Locke's empty-net goal, but Milwaukee did not quit as Tousignant added a score with 25 seconds left in the game.

Admirals goaltender Magnus Hellberg (2-5-1) made 22 saves in the contest and suffered the loss.
