Wolverines land pledge from in-state Class of 2015 QB

National Football Post

New Michigan offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier has landed his first quarterback recruit since arriving at the school, as the Wolverines received a commitment on Monday from Class of 2015 in-state product Alex Malzone.

The 6-1, 195-pound pocket passer from Brother Rice High School (Bloomfield Hills, MI) is known for his accuracy, decision-making skills and strong arm. He is listed as a three-star prospect and the 16th-best QB in the 2015 class by Rivals.com.

Nussmeier, who is in his first season in Ann Arbor after taking over for Al Borges, helped land David Cornwell and Cooper Bateman when he was at Alabama.

Malzone is the sixth recruit in Michigan’s 2015 class. He joins defensive backs Shaun Crawford, Tyree Kinnel and Garrett Taylor, offensive lineman Jon Runyan Jr. and kicker Andrew David.
