Wizards add four players

The Washington Wizards signed forwards Josh Childress and Pops Mensah-Bonsu, guard Xavier Silas and center D'Or Fischer, the team announced Friday.

According to team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Childress, the sixth overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft by Atlanta, has career averages 9.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 387 games with the Hawks, Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets. He also spent two seasons with Olympiacos in Greece and averaged 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Last season, Childress was with the Nets.

Mensah-Bonsu played in six games with Cajasol in Spain and nine games with EA7 Armani in Italy last season. He has 61 career NBA games to his credit with Dallas, San Antonio, Toronto, Houston and New Orleans. His NBA career averages are 3.0 points and 3.0 rebounds.

Silas spent the past two seasons in the Developmental League, averaging 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists for the Maine Red Claws. During the 2011-12 season, he saw action in two games with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Fischer (6-11, 240), an undrafted free agent from West Virginia, has played since 2005 in Poland, Germany, Belgium, Israel and Spain and for the Roanoke Dazzle of the D-League.
