Wizards 119, Nuggets 113

WASHINGTON -- Emeka Okafor had 17 points and 13 rebounds, John Wall and Bradley Beal also generated double-doubles and seven Wizards scored in double figures as Washington swept the season series from the Denver Nuggets with a 119-113 win on Friday night.

Beal finished with 17 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, and Wall had 14 points and 10 assists, for the Wizards (16-37), who snapped a two-game losing streak and won for the ninth time in their last 11 home games. Trevor Ariza scored 16 points, Martell Webster 15 and Nene had 14 as Washington picked up its first win after the All-Star break.

Entering the third quarter tied at 64-64, Nene's hook shot sparked a 13-0 run as the Wizards held the Nuggets without a point for over five minutes. Washington never trailed again, but watched its lead cut to 113-111 with 1:07 remaining following a pair of Lawson free throws.

After Wall missed a jumper, Nene blocked Lawson's game-tying layup attempt and Wall redeemed himself with by sinking a 19-foot jumper with 13.7 remaining.

Ty Lawson scored 27 points and Wilson Chandler tallied 22 for the Nuggets (34-22), who have dropped four of their last five games.

Okafor's layup capped the decisive run and Garrett Temple's 3-point play closing the third quarter scoring put the Wizards ahead 94-78. Ariza's free throw with 11 minutes remaining gave the Wizards their largest lead at 98-80.

Denver surged back to 102-98 following an 18-4 spurt and trailed 106-103 following Andre Iguodala's 3-pointer.

A.J. Price had 12 for the Wizards, who won the first meeting at Denver, 112-108.

The teams executed a point-producing first half reminiscent of the NBA's high scoring days. Washington both scored and surrendered season-high totals. Each side shot more than 51 percent from the field in the fast-paced half. Denver never led and trailed 49-39 as Price made four from beyond the arc for Washington, but rallied behind Lawson's 16 points.

Andre Miller had 19 points and Corey Brewer had 12 for the Nuggets. JaVale McGee, sent to Denver for Nene in a mid-season deal last year, finished with nine points in his first game back in Washington.

Lawson made 11 of 12 free throws and scored 56 points in two games against the Wizards.

The Wizards played their first game after trading third-leading scorer Jordan Crawford to the Boston Celtics before Thursday's league trading deadline.

NOTES: Center Jason Collins, acquired from the Boston Celtics with injured guard Leandro Barbosa, will join the Wizards for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets. Barbosa will miss the remainder of the season with a torn left ACL, which occurred on Feb. 11 at the Charlotte Bobcats. ... The Nuggets' only move at the NBA trade deadline was to not make one. "It coincides with the philosophy of this season," coach George Karl said. "This team we put together, see how it would do. I think it's done well enough to keep it together." ... Entering the game, Washington held its last 11 opponents to under 100 points. ... Wizards swingman Cartier Martin was on the active roster after missing the last 20 games with a hyperextended left knee. ... Denver closes its two-game road swing Saturday at Charlotte.
