Willian: My night could not have been better

Willian has revealed his delight after coming off the bench to grab a goal in his first Brazil appearance under coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The Chelsea midfielder was introduced as halftime substitute at Sun Life Stadium in Miami and steered home a neat finish for Brazil’s fourth as it beat Honduras 5-0 in front of 71,124 fans – a new record attendance for football in the state of Florida.

"I'm very happy, to start with a victory was very important. I’m elastic we scored five goals," he said. “The whole group should be congratulated.”

"Brazil played well and my debut could not be better,” added the 25-year-old, who had mad two appearances for the Selecao in 2011 but is clearly treating his recall as a fresh start.

They were sentiments echoed by Robinho, who also returned to the international setup after a two-year absence.

“When the collective does well, every team performs. Everyone played well and I think the rout was really good for us.”
