Both will miss Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings and likely tomorrow’s tilt in Winnipeg with the Jets. Assistant head coach Scott Stevens is “showing signs” of mumps, according to Mike Russo of the Star Tribune, and is not on the bench tonight.

From the Wild:

Members of the organization that have symptoms are being tested immediately and placed in isolation for a five-day period. Team doctors recently provided players and staff an MMR vaccination and the organization will continue to work closely with the NHL, NHLPA and the Minnesota Department of Health to help prevent further infection.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mumps symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, tiredness, loss of appetite, swollen and tender salivary glands under the ears on one or both sides. It can take a few days before symptoms go away.

On Friday, the Vancouver Canucks announced that defenseman Troy Stetcher had been diagnosed with mumps, while Chris Tanev and Nikita Tryamkin along with forwards Michael Chaput and Markus Granlund were showing signs. Anton Rodin, Ben Hutton and a team trainer were added to the “symptoms” list on Sunday.

In case you’re wondering, the Wild practiced in Vancouver on Feb. 3 and played the Canucks the next day.

When the big mumps outbreak hit the NHL during the 2014-15 season, several Wild players were affected, including Jonas Brodin, who missed three weeks. According to Russo, Parise and Pominville were among the group of Wild players and staff who received booster shots as a preventative measure.

Over 20 players were either diagnosed or showed signs of mumps during the outbreak two years ago. The last reported case before Stetcher’s was Jan. 11, 2015.
