Wild pick up Moulson, McCormick in trade

The Minnesota Wild landed forwards Matt Moulson and Cody McCormick in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres for forward Torrey Mitchell and draft picks on Wednesday, according to reports.

Considered one of the top players available at the trade deadline, Moulson has 17 goals and 38 points in 55 games in 2013-14. He started the season with the New York Islanders and was traded to Sabres in a late October deal that included winger Thomas Vanek.

With the Sabres, the 30-year-old Moulson had 11 goals and 29 points in 44 games. He will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old McCormick, also set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season, had one goal and five points in 29 games for the Sabres this season.

Mitchell, 29, scored one goal and had nine points in 58 games this season for the Wild. He has one year remaining on his contract.
