BALTIMORE (AP) Logan Wiens scored 23 points to lead four Coppin State players in double figures as the Eagles routed Hampton 83-66 Saturday in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.
Wiens hit 7 of 11 shots from the floor, going 3 for 7 from 3-point range. Coppin State (8-9, 3-1) had a huge advantage at the foul line. The Eagles were 28 for 36, while Hampton was 8 for 20.
Tony Gallo's 15 points for Coppin State included nine free throws, one more than Hampton's team total.
It was basically a two-man game for Hampton (6-11, 2-2). Darrion Pellum scored 26 points, making six 3-pointers. Mike Tuitt came off the bench to score 25. But the other Pirates combined for only 15 points.
