Wichita State, which was undefeated and ranked No. 23 before losing to Tennessee last week, suffered a significant blow on Monday when it was announced that Carl Hall, the team's leading scorer and rebounder, will be sidelined for about a month because of a broken thumb. Hall, a 6-8 senior who is averaging 13.9 points and 7.6 boards, broke his thumb during Saturday's practice and will have surgery on Tuesday. In the loss to Tennessee, Hall had 21 points and nine rebounds for Wichita State (9-1).
