Chicago White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday because tendinitis and pain in his flexor muscle in his right elbow. It could have been worse, but an MRI found no structural damage. The White Sox activated right-hander Philip Humber, who had been on the disabled list with an elbow strain but is scheduled to start Tuesday night against the Red Sox. The pain in Floyd's elbow increased during his last start on July 7, when he pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings. He felt pain again while playing catch during the All-Star break. Floyd is 7-8 with a 4.54 earned-run average.
