The Chicago White Sox called up outfielder Dewayne Wise from Class AAA Charlotte on Saturday and placed right-handed starting pitcher John Danks on the 60-day disabled list, the Chicago Tribune reported. Wise takes the roster spot of first baseman Paul Konerko, who was put on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion on Friday. Danks had season-ending shoulder surgery on Monday. Wise played two seasons with the White Sox and was signed to a minor league contract with the club on Aug. 3 after being released by the New York Yankees. He hit .161 in seven games at Charlotte.
