The Chicago White Sox made a series of roster moves Friday, including activating first baseman Paul Konerko from the seven-day disabled list, MLB.com reported.
Konerko was on the DL for concussion symptoms from taking an unintentional elbow to the head from Kansas City Royals Jarrod Dyson on a play at first base on Aug. 7. He was placed on the DL on Aug. 10. The first baseman is batting .316 with 18 homers and 54 RBI.
The White Sox also recalled left-handed pitcher Hector Santiago from Class AAA Charlotte. To make room for Konerko and Santiago, Chicago put infielder Orlando Hudson and left-hander Leyson Septimo on the 15-day DL.
Santiago has a 3.66 ERA with 43 strikeouts and 21 walks in 39 1/3 innings in an earlier stint with the White Sox.
Hudson has a foot bruise after fouling a ball off it on Wednesday. The move is retroactive to Thursday. Septimo has inflammation in his left biceps. His move to the DL is backdated to Tuesday.
