White Sox 2B Beckham injures wrist

Chicago White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham left Tuesday's game at Washington due to nerve irritation in his left wrist, and the team announced he is day-to-day.

The training staff looked at the wrist after Beckham struck out swinging in the second. Beckham returned to second base in the bottom of the inning, but Angel Sanchez took his spot in the field in the third.

After going 0-for-1 Tuesday, Beckham is hitting .316 (6-for-19) with one RBI through the season's first seven games.

In 151 games last year, Beckham hit .234 with a .296 on-base percentage, a .371 slugging percentage, a career-high 16 homers and 60 RBI. Now in his fifth major league season, Beckham has a career .246 average.
