CHICAGO -- Conor Gillaspie went 3-for-4 and drove in the winning run in the ninth inning to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 2-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Saturday night.

Gillaspie singled home Dewayne Wise after Wise doubled to open the ninth off Marlins reliever Ryan Webb (1-3).

Right-handed starter Jake Peavy earned the win as he scattered six hits, struck out five and walked two in his first nine-inning appearance of the season.

Peavy (6-2) nursed a 1-0 lead through 8 1/3 innings before giving up a one-out home run to right to the Marlins' Derek Dietrich to tie the game. It was his fourth win in his last five starts.

The victory was also the fourth in five games for Chicago. Miami has lost four straight and 11 of its last 13.

Marlins right-hander starter Ricky Nolasco pitched nearly as well as Peavy, giving up one earned run on eight hits while striking out six and walking none through 7 2/3 innings.

Left-handed reliever Mike Dunn entered with two out in the eighth with one runner on and walked Adam Dunn. He then departed for right-hander Webb, who got Paul Konerko on an inning-ending liner to second.

The White Sox broke a scoreless tie in the third as Alejandro De Aza led off with a single to center and scored on Alexi Ramirez's double into the left-field corner.

Miami threatened with two out in the second inning. With Marcell Ozuna perched on third, Peavy got first baseman Greg Dobbs to strike out to end the inning.

Chicago loaded the bases with two out in the bottom of the inning on singles by Konerko, Gillaspie and Jeff Keppinger. But catcher Hector Gimenez grounded to second to end the threat.
