Big-play wide receiver Stedman Bailey will leave West Virginia after the Pinstripe Bowl to enter the NFL draft, coach Dana Holgerson said Monday.
Bailey, a redshirt junior, finished the regular season with 106 receptions for 1,501 yards and 23 touchdowns. He is ranked 14th among receiver prospects by NFLDraftScout.com.
The Biletnikoff Award finalist had two 200-yard receiving games and one 300-yard game this season. Bailey topped 1,000 yards in receiving for the second consecutive year.
The Mountaineers also will lose wide receiver Tavon Austin, ranked No. 3 at his position by NFLDraftScout.com., and quarterback Geno Smith, who was a high-school teammmate of Bailey. Smith is considered the top quarterback prospect, according to NFLDraftScout.com.
