West Virginia dismissed defensive end Korey Harris from the team outright after his Friday arrest on an armed robbery charge.
WBOY-TV reported that Morgantown, Va., police confirmed Harris' arrest on first-degree robbery and conspiracy charges stemming from an alleged robbery at a Morgantown home July 12.
Harris and two other men broke into the home and stole cash and electronics while holding two residents at gunpoint, according to police.
WV MetroNews reported Saturday that West Virginia dismissed Harris from the team. He was previously suspended.
A Mountaineers spokesman said the school had no comment on "individuals who aren't with the West Virginia football program." Harris is no longer listed on the team's online roster.
West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen suspended Harris from the team for the spring semester in April but did not specify a reason.
Harris, 20, had four tackles in 11 games last year as a freshman.
