Manchester United was knocked out in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday, losing 2-1 to fellow Premier League side Swansea.
Swansea capitalized on the 80th-minute sending-off of substitute Fabio Da Silva on a last-minute goal by Wilfried Bony at United, the latest setback for David Moyes in his turbulent first season with the English champions.
Second-half goals by John Obi Mikel and Oscar earned Chelsea a 2-0 victory at Derby, while Liverpool avenged last season's surprise defeat to third-tier Oldham in this competition by winning 2-0 at Anfield thanks to Iago Aspas' first goal for the club and an own goal by James Tarkowski.
That game also saw Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers go up against his own son, Anton, who plays for Oldham and came on as a second-half substitute.
''I've seen Anton's life from when he was a young footballer and to see him run out there was a bit surreal really,'' Rodgers said.
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Alexis Sanchez had a hat trick to spark Barcelona's 4-0 romp over Elche at Camp Nou. The result sets up a showdown with Atletico Madrid next week between the top two teams in the Spanish league.
With Lionel Messi rehabilitating a leg injury and Neymar watching from the sidelines, Barcelona turned to Alexis and its group of Spain internationals.
Alexis scored in the seventh, 63rd and 69th minutes. Pedro Rodriguez had the other goal and Xavi Hernandez missed a penalty kick.
Barcelona is tied for first place with Atletico. Real Madrid, eight points off the lead, hosts Celta Vigo on Monday.
MILAN (AP) - Serie A leader Juventus improved its chances for a third straight Serie title with a 3-0 victory over second-place Roma, which was forced to play with nine men for the final 13 minutes on Sunday.
Juventus extended its lead at the top of the table to eight points at the halfway stage of the season. It was Roma's first loss of the season.
Juventus was in complete control following goals from Arturo Vidal and Leonardo Bonucci, and Roma's Daniele De Rossi was then sent off for a tackle on Giorgio Chiellini and Leandro Castan was also shown a straight red card two minutes later for a handball on the goalline.
Mirko Vucinic fired home the resulting penalty against his former club.
Earlier, Fiorentina beat Livorno 1-0 in the Tuscan derby and Cagliari drew 0-0 at Chievo Verona as Serie A resumed following a winter break.
Fiorentina's American-born star striker Giuseppe Rossi was injured again, and limped off in the second half with what appeared to be a knee injury. Rossi is the league's leading scorer, having returned after two years of injuries and several surgeries.
