In a tremendous all-around performance, Nicolas Batum finished with 21 points and added 9 rebounds and 9 assists to help the Portland Trail Blazers pull out the close victory against the Milwaukee Bucks, 120-115. Portland (44-24) picked up the win after falling to Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
Batum went 7-15 from the field, including 3-7 on 3-point attempts. Robin Lopez also contributed for Portland, finishing with 15 points and 14 rebounds. On 8-20 shooting (3-7 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-7 from the free throw line, Brandon Knight put up 24 points for Milwaukee in the loss. He also registered 8 rebounds. Khris Middleton added 18 points and 6 rebounds, Zaza Pachulia finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Ersan Ilyasova put up 12 points and 9 rebounds.
As expected, the Bucks offense did not have its best game, struggling to score against the stingy Trail Blazers defense that ranks fourth in the league with a defensive efficiency of 113.8. They registered just .991 points per possession in this game, and rank 26th in the NBA with an offensive efficiency of 99.2 on the season.
Milwaukee (13-55) has now lost five straight.
Coming up, the Trail Blazers play the Washington Wizards, who are 35-32 on the season. The Bucks meet the Golden State Warriors, currently sitting at 43-26 this year. The Trail Blazers are 0-1 versus Washington this season. The Bucks have a 0-1 record against Golden State this season.
