Wesley Matthews: (Hip) Out at Least Two More Games
Update: Matthews had an MRI performed on his injured left hip while Portland was in Sacramento on Sunday, The Oregonian reports. The procedure revealed a left hip flexor strain, which will keep him sidelined indefinitely.

Recommendation: Fortunately for Matthews, the strain is Grade One, which is the least severe kind on a three-grade scale. However, he is now under specific directives before he can take the court again: he must participate fully in a team practice, followed by reporting no setbacks the next morning, before he plays in a game. Matthews is not expected to practice Thursday, wiping the Blazers' next two contests off the docket. Thus, his next opportunity to suit up is Dec. 31 in New York against the Knicks. We'll keep a close eye on his status in the coming days.
