Wes Welker's suspension elevates Emmanuel Sanders

Wes Welker's four-game suspension is a boon for Emmanuel Sanders. The Broncos' free-agent acquisition already was trending up following his preseason debut (5 catches, 128 yards, 2 TDs in one half), but now he's guaranteed to be one of Peyton Manning's top three targets, starting Sunday night against the Colts.

The Denver Post expects Sanders to play outside when tight end Jacob Tamme is in the game, and move into the slot when Cody Latimer or Andre Caldwell enters.

Senior Fantasy Writer Jamey Eisenberg boosted Sanders from 17th to 10th in his rankings off the Welker news, while colleague Dave Richard had Sanders at 11th all along. Richard has been leading the Sanders bandwagon for months, and he did not expect Welker to play much coming off his third concussion in 10 months.

Sanders is in lofty territory now, especially considering he's never produced a 100-yard game or a 1,000-yard season. Look for him to erase both distinctions this year.
