Roman Weidenfeller believes that Borussia Dortmund does not need to fear any opponent following its performance in the Champions League Group D match against Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
The Bundesliga champion dominated proceedings at the Etihad Stadium and appeared to be on its way to the full three points following Marco Reus' opener, until Mario Balotelli leveled the scoring from the spot in the closing minutes of the match.
Nevertheless, Weidenfeller, who captained his side on the night, was quite pleased with his team's performance, and feels it deserved better.
"We don't need to fear anybody," he said to UEFA's official website. "We still have a great chance to get through although we're very disappointed we got just one point. We deserved to get the three points and [conceding] at the end was a blow we didn't deserve. Joe Hart has saved his team two points and I congratulate him on his performance."
Dortmund sits second in its section following Wednesday's results with four points from two games.
