In what should be a good week for veteran tight ends, the PFW staff recommends playing Dustin Keller, Heath Miller and Brandon Pettigrew. Meanwhile, you should monitor the health of Jimmy Graham very closely leading up to Sunday.
Jets TE Dustin Keller caught all seven passes thrown his way last week and seems to be back in form. He missed the last meeting with Miami but in his career, Keller is averaging 54.7 receiving yards against the Dolphins and has four touchdowns in six games. The Dolphins struggle to cover tight ends, and if Gang Green is throwing it around the gridiron, Keller could rack up some fantasy points.
Steelers TE Heath Miller has a touchdown catch in 4-of-6 games and now leads the club in TDs (five). He’s a very good starting option in Week Eight against a porous Washington defense.
Owners should monitor the status of Saints TE Jimmy Graham this weekend. After missing last week’s game, he was limited in practice Wednesday with the ankle injury he suffered in Week Five. If he’s active, he should be in your lineup vs. the Broncos.
Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew hasn’t had a banner season in terms of fantasy production (31 catches, 300 yards, one TD), but he’s a key possession target for Detroit, and with WR Nate Burleson (leg) lost for the season, Pettigrew’s importance to the offense is not on the wane.
