Week 16 Target Watch: AFC

Chet Gresham looks at the fantasy impact of the Logan Mankins and Tim Wright trade between the Patriots and Buccaneers

Welcome to the AFC targets and touches for Week 16 of the NFL season. The NFC portion can be found with a click of the clicky thing.

I have all the targets for each player since Week 11, and then in parentheses are the total and then average targets per game played for that player. Then below that I have the Red Zone targets and touches for each player, now sorted for rushing attempts and passing targets from Week 11 on. I hope you enjoy and if you get a chance give a follow on Twitter.

Baltimore Ravens

Torrey Smith: 8-4-10-5-12 (39) (7.8), Jacoby Jones: 2-6-7-7-9 (31) (6.2), Ray Rice: 5-1-7-5-4 (22) (4.4), Marlon Brown: dnp-2-1-11-6 (20) (5), Ed Dickson: 3-5-2-5-3 (18) (3.6), Dennis Pitta: dnp-dnp-dnp-11-4 (15) (7.5), Dallas Clark: 4-4-2-dnp-dnp (10) (3.3), Tandon Doss: 5-1-0-0-0 (6) (1.2), Brandon Stokley: dnp-1-3-1-dnp (5) (1.7), Bernard Pierce: 0-0-3-2-0 (5) (1), Vonta Leach: 1-2-0-2-0 (5) (1), Deonte Thompson: 3-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp (3) (3)

If ever a game was dominated by a kicker, this was the one. Justin Tucker hit a team record six field goals along with the game winner, a 61 yarder as time ran out. He was the only Raven to put any points on the board so you can guess how the other offensive players fared.

Torrey Smith saw 12 targets after just five last week in the snow, but only caught four of them for 69 yards. In a great matchup Joe Flacco was only able to throw for 222 yards on 38 pass attempts. He didn’t throw an interception or a touchdown of course. This game fits into his home/away splits for the season. In seven home games he is completing 61.8% of his passes and has 10 touchdowns to six interceptions for an 85.6 passer rating, but in his seven road games he is completing 56.6% of his passes with eight touchdowns to 11 interceptions and a 69.0 quarterback rating.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Torrey Smith: Run 0/Tar 6, Ray Rice: Run 17/Tar 5, Marlon Brown: Run 0/Tar 3, Ed Dickson: Run 0/Tar 2, Jacoby Jones: Run 0/Tar 2, Dennis Pitta: Run 0/Tar 2, Dallas Clark: Run 0/Tar 2, Vonta Leach: Run 0/Tar 1, Bernard Pierce: Run 4/Tar 0

Buffalo Bills

Steve Johnson: dnp-BYE-8-11-3 (22) (7.3), Scott Chandler: 3-BYE-6-3-5 (17) (4.2), Fred Jackson: 2-BYE-4-7-2 (15) (3.8), Robert Woods: dnp-BYE-3-5-6 (14) (4.7), Marquise Goodwin: 9-BYE-4-0-0 (13) (3.2), T.J. Graham: 4-BYE-2-3-2 (11) (2.8), C.J. Spiller: 2-BYE-4-1-2 (9) (2.2), Chris Hogan: 4-BYE-0-1-0 (5) (1.2), Frank Summers: 1-BYE-1-dnp-3 (5) (1.7), Lee Smith: 2-BYE-0-1-0 (3) (0.8), Chris Gragg: 0-BYE-dnp-0-1 (1) (0.3)

Robert Woods was the target leader in this one with six, which he caught five of for 82 yards and a touchdown. E.J. Manuel was much better than last week completing 17-of-24 passes for 193 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while also running 10 times for 37 yards and another touchdown. He did hurt his knee in the process though and will miss this week’s game.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Steve Johnson: Run 0/Tar 2, Robert Woods: Run 0/Tar 1, Frank Summers: Run 2/Tar 1, T.J. Graham: Run 0/Tar 1, C.J. Spiller: Run 3/Tar 0, Fred Jackson: Run 6/Tar 0, Tashard Choice: Run 1/Tar 0, EJ Manuel: Run 6/Tar 0

Cincinnati Bengals

A.J. Green: 5-BYE-7-8-18 (38) (9.5), Marvin Jones: 2-BYE-3-4-9 (18) (4.5), Jermaine Gresham: 6-BYE-2-5-5 (18) (4.5), Mohamed Sanu: 5-BYE-2-4-4 (15) (3.8), Giovani Bernard: 5-BYE-2-4-4 (15) (3.8), Tyler Eifert: 1-BYE-2-4-3 (10) (2.5), Andrew Hawkins: 2-BYE-3-2-1 (8) (2), Alex Smith: 1-BYE-0-1-0 (2) (0.5), BenJarvus Green-Ellis: 0-BYE-1-1-0 (2) (0.5)

A.J. Green caught eight passes for 93 yards, which isn’t bad, even for him, but the fact that he saw 18 targets makes it a little bad. The Steelers seem to have his number for the most part throughout his young career.

Since his four touchdown game Marvin Jones had hit the skids pretty hard with just eight receptions for 89 yards in the four games after, but in his last two he has nine receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns on 13 targets.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: A.J. Green: Run 0/Tar 5, Mohamed Sanu: Run 0/Tar 3, Marvin Jones: Run 0/Tar 3, Jermaine Gresham: Run 0/Tar 1, Giovani Bernard: Run 10/Tar 1, Alex Smith: Run 0/Tar 1, Tyler Eifert: Run 0/Tar 1, Andy Dalton: Run 3/Tar 0, BenJarvus Green-Ellis: Run 12/Tar 0

Cleveland Browns

Josh Gordon: 15-17-15-10-10 (67) (13.4), Jordan Cameron: 7-10-7-9-6 (39) (7.8), Chris Ogbonnaya: 12-5-5-3-5 (30) (6), Greg Little: 6-7-4-4-7 (28) (5.6), Davone Bess: 6-8-5-4-3 (26) (5.2), Fozzy Whittaker: 5-5-1-7-2 (20) (4), Willis McGahee: 2-0-2-1-dnp (5) (1.2), Gary Barnidge: 1-0-0-2-1 (4) (0.8), Edwin Baker: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-4 (4) (4), MarQueis Gray: dnp-dnp-0-2-0 (2) (0.7)

Jason Campbell unfortunately reverted to Jason Campbell against the Bears as he completed 23-of-39 for 273 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Josh Gordon coming off the best three games for a receiver ever was thwarted by Campbell’s inaccuracy more than anything. Thankfully for his fantasy owners he was able to catch a garbage-time touchdown and turn his team-high ten targets into three receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Josh Gordon: Run 0/Tar 7, Jordan Cameron: Run 0/Tar 4, Greg Little: Run 0/Tar 4, Chris Ogbonnaya: Run 3/Tar 3, Fozzy Whittaker: Run 3/Tar 1, Davone Bess: Run 0/Tar 1, Armanti Edwards: Run 1/Tar 0, Edwin Baker: Run 2/Tar 0, MarQueis Gray: Run 1/Tar 0, Willis McGahee: Run 4/Tar 0

Denver Broncos

Demaryius Thomas: 13-9-6-10-5 (43) (8.6), Eric Decker: 6-4-12-12-5 (39) (7.8), Wes Welker: 10-8-5-10-dnp (33) (8.2), Knowshon Moreno: 1-1-5-7-6 (20) (4), Julius Thomas: 5-dnp-dnp-7-8 (20) (6.7), Montee Ball: 4-3-2-4-5 (18) (3.6), Jacob Tamme: 0-5-3-5-2 (15) (3), Andre Caldwell: 1-0-1-1-10 (13) (2.6), Joel Dreessen: 0-1-0-2-0 (3) (0.6), Virgil Green: 0-2-1-0-0 (3) (0.6), C.J. Anderson: 0-1-dnp-dnp-dnp (1) (0.5)

The loss of Wes Welker for this game was a huge boon to Andre Caldwell who led the team with 11 targets, six receptions, 59 yards and two touchdowns. After him the targets and yards were pretty spread out. Montee Ball and Knowshon Moreno both had five receptions. Ball’s five receptions and 49 yards were both highs for him.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Knowshon Moreno: Run 13/Tar 6, Eric Decker: Run 0/Tar 6, Demaryius Thomas: Run 0/Tar 6, Wes Welker: Run 0/Tar 4, Julius Thomas: Run 0/Tar 3, Andre Caldwell: Run 0/Tar 3, Montee Ball: Run 13/Tar 3, Joel Dreessen: Run 0/Tar 2, Jacob Tamme: Run 0/Tar 2, Virgil Green: Run 0/Tar 1

Houston Texans

Andre Johnson: 17-6-9-21-10 (63) (12.6), Garrett Graham: 13-9-11-14-dnp (47) (11.8), DeAndre Hopkins: 2-4-5-7-5 (23) (4.6), Ben Tate: 6-6-0-4-6 (22) (4.4), Keshawn Martin: 5-2-1-6-3 (17) (3.4), Ryan Griffin: dnp-2-0-3-6 (11) (2.8), Dennis Johnson: 0-2-2-1-2 (7) (1.4), DeVier Posey: 4-1-0-1-0 (6) (1.2), Greg Jones: 1-0-0-1-0 (2) (0.4), Deji Karim: 0-0-0-0-1 (1) (0.2), Lestar Jean: 0-0-dnp-dnp-1 (1) (0.3)

Case Keenum played about as poorly as he could, completing 18-of-34 for 168 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. Keenum had been able to give Andre Johnson enough targets to keep him flush with fantasy points, but not this week. Keenum’s inaccuracy coupled with some uncharacteristic drops left him with just four receptions for 18 yards.

Ryan Griffin, the backup to the backup tight end, had the best game of the receivers with six receptions on six targets for 62 yards.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Andre Johnson: Run 0/Tar 7, Garrett Graham: Run 0/Tar 5, Ben Tate: Run 14/Tar 3, DeAndre Hopkins: Run 0/Tar 3, Keshawn Martin: Run 0/Tar 2, Greg Jones: Run 0/Tar 1, Dennis Johnson: Run 2/Tar 0, Case Keenum: Run 2/Tar 0

Indianapolis Colts

T.Y. Hilton: 9-9-7-5-12 (42) (8.4), Coby Fleener: 10-8-5-9-1 (33) (6.6), Trent Richardson: 5-2-0-6-6 (19) (3.8), LaVon Brazill: 1-5-8-4-dnp (18) (4.5), Darrius Heyward-Bey: 3-6-5-3-0 (17) (3.4), Da’Rick Rogers: dnp-dnp-0-9-6 (15) (5), Donald Brown: 1-2-3-6-0 (12) (2.4), Griff Whalen: 3-dnp-dnp-dnp-5 (8) (4), Weslye Saunders: 3-2-dnp-2-0 (7) (1.8), Stanley Havili: 1-dnp-4-0-dnp (5) (1.7), Jack Doyle: dnp-dnp-dnp-1-2 (3) (1.5), David Reed: 0-2-dnp-dnp-dnp (2) (1), Tashard Choice: 1-dnp-0-dnp-0 (1) (0.3), Justice Cunningham: dnp-1-dnp-dnp-dnp (1) (1)

After a pretty meaningful slump the Colts looked to get T.Y. Hilton back into a rhythm with 12 targets. It was somewhat successful as he caught eight passes for 78 yards, which was a pretty big chunk of Andrew Luck’s 180 total yards.

Trent Richardson had one of his best games as a Colt with 102 total yards and a touchdown on 23 touches. It wasn’t a dominant performance by any means, but it was a step forward from his abysmal play this year.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: T.Y. Hilton: Run 0/Tar 4, Darrius Heyward-Bey: Run 0/Tar 3, Donald Brown: Run 6/Tar 3, Coby Fleener: Run 0/Tar 2, Da’Rick Rogers: Run 0/Tar 2, Griff Whalen: Run 0/Tar 2, LaVon Brazill: Run 0/Tar 1, Jack Doyle: Run 0/Tar 1, Trent Richardson: Run 6/Tar 1, Chris Rainey: Run 0/Tar 1, Stanley Havili: Run 0/Tar 1, Andrew Luck: Run 1/Tar 0

Jacksonville Jaguars

Ace Sanders: 10-5-11-6-3 (35) (7), Cecil Shorts: 5-11-11-6-dnp (33) (8.2), Marcedes Lewis: 7-1-4-4-7 (23) (4.6), Maurice Jones-Drew: 4-6-8-3-dnp (21) (5.2), Mike Brown: 3-dnp-2-7-7 (19) (4.8), Kerry Taylor: 5-4-0-0-5 (14) (2.8), Jordan Todman: 1-1-2-2-8 (14) (2.8), Clay Harbor: 5-1-3-0-4 (13) (2.6), Will Ta’ufo’ou: 1-2-0-0-0 (3) (0.6), Jeremy Ebert: dnp-0-dnp-dnp-2 (2) (1), Danny Noble: 1-0-0-0-0 (1) (0.2), Justin Forsett: dnp-1-dnp-dnp-dnp (1) (1)

With Cecil Shorts out for this game, running back Jordan Todman and tight end Marcedes Lewis led in targets. Lewis caught his third touchdown in the last three games and looks like a big part of the offense with Shorts out.

Jordan Todman had eight targets, catching four for 44 yards and also ran the ball 25 times for 109 yards. That’s 33 looks, which is a ton for anyone in the 2013 version of the NFL. He looked good for the most part and may be winning a chance at lead back duties for next season.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Ace Sanders: Run 0/Tar 5, Cecil Shorts: Run 0/Tar 4, Marcedes Lewis: Run 0/Tar 4, Mike Brown: Run 0/Tar 3, Clay Harbor: Run 0/Tar 2, Jordan Todman: Run 8/Tar 2, Maurice Jones-Drew: Run 10/Tar 1, Kerry Taylor: Run 0/Tar 1, Will Ta’ufo’ou: Run 0/Tar 1, Chad Henne: Run 1/Tar 0

Kansas City Chiefs

Dwayne Bowe: 14-6-7-5-4 (36) (7.2), Dexter McCluster: 8-10-6-5-dnp (29) (7.2), Jamaal Charles: 8-6-2-3-8 (27) (5.4), Donnie Avery: 3-5-6-2-3 (19) (3.8), Anthony Fasano: 4-5-5-dnp-dnp (14) (4.7), Sean McGrath: 3-1-3-3-2 (12) (2.4), Anthony Sherman: 3-2-2-0-1 (8) (1.6), Junior Hemingway: 0-0-3-2-2 (7) (1.4), Knile Davis: 1-0-2-2-2 (7) (1.4), A.J. Jenkins: 0-1-4-0-1 (6) (1.2), Cyrus Gray: 0-0-1-1-1 (3) (0.6), Chad Hall: dnp-dnp-0-dnp-1 (1) (0.5)

Do you mind if I just write JAMAAL CHARLES here and go on with the other teams? Ok, well, he played pretty well. He was the target leader with eight and Dwayne Bowe was second with four. He totaled 215 of Kansas City’s 385 yards and 195 of Alex Smith’s 287 yards passing. And of course he had five of their seven offensive touchdowns. He was the total offense. Knile Davis chipped in a touchdown run in garbage time, but this was all Charles, all game.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Jamaal Charles: Run 17/Tar 9, Anthony Fasano: Run 0/Tar 7, Dexter McCluster: Run 1/Tar 6, Dwayne Bowe: Run 0/Tar 6, Knile Davis: Run 4/Tar 2, Junior Hemingway: Run 0/Tar 1, Anthony Sherman: Run 1/Tar 1, A.J. Jenkins: Run 1/Tar 1, Sean McGrath: Run 0/Tar 1, Donnie Avery: Run 0/Tar 1, Chad Hall: Run 0/Tar 1, Alex Smith: Run 1/Tar 0, Chase Daniel: Run 1/Tar 0

Miami Dolphins

Brian Hartline: 13-5-15-8-8 (49) (9.8), Mike Wallace: 6-10-9-5-9 (39) (7.8), Charles Clay: 7-7-10-10-2 (36) (7.2), Rishard Matthews: 6-7-3-2-9 (27) (5.4), Lamar Miller: 2-4-1-4-1 (12) (2.4), Marcus Thigpen: 0-2-1-1-2 (6) (1.2), Dion Sims: 0-1-2-2-1 (6) (1.2), Daniel Thomas: 1-2-dnp-1-1 (5) (1.2), Marlon Moore: 0-2-1-0-1 (4) (0.8), Michael Egnew: 0-1-0-0-3 (4) (0.8)

If you take out the Steelers’ game, Mike Wallace has had a nice run of late. And even if you keep that Steelers’ game intact he has 20 receptions on 33 targets for 333 yards and three touchdowns over the last four games. (If he had 33 receptions my day would have been made).

That also coincides with some strong games from Ryan Tannehill. In that stretch he is averaging 288.3 yards per game and has nine touchdowns and three interceptions. He finishes off with two good matchups and they hold their playoff destiny in their hands, so it will be interesting to see if he can keep this up.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Charles Clay: Run 1/Tar 6, Brian Hartline: Run 0/Tar 6, Rishard Matthews: Run 0/Tar 3, Lamar Miller: Run 10/Tar 3, Mike Wallace: Run 0/Tar 3, Daniel Thomas: Run 12/Tar 3, Marcus Thigpen: Run 0/Tar 3, Mike Gillislee: Run 1/Tar 0, Ryan Tannehill: Run 1/Tar 0

New England Patriots

Julian Edelman: 4-11-12-9-19 (55) (11), Shane Vereen: 11-11-6-17-7 (52) (10.4), Danny Amendola: 7-6-5-8-14 (40) (8), Rob Gronkowski: 7-10-12-5-dnp (34) (8.5), Kenbrell Thompkins: 2-9-3-dnp-dnp (14) (4.7), Josh Boyce: 0-dnp-1-5-7 (13) (3.2), Aaron Dobson: 7-0-dnp-dnp-dnp (7) (3.5), Michael Hoomanawanui: 1-dnp-dnp-dnp-3 (4) (2), Austin Collie: dnp-dnp-dnp-1-3 (4) (2), LeGarrette Blount: 0-0-0-2-1 (3) (0.6), James Develin: 0-0-1-1-0 (2) (0.4), Brandon Bolden: dnp-1-1-dnp-0 (2) (0.7), Matthew Mulligan: 1-0-0-1-0 (2) (0.4), Stevan Ridley: 0-0-dnp-1-0 (1) (0.2)

Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are the kings of targetry, well, for this game at least. Together they saw 33 targets and caught 23 for 270 yards and one touchdown. Of course the touchdowns were needed a little more than the rest of that, but the rest of that is pretty amazing for fantasy. Without true playmakers like Gronkowski they’ll need to continue with the shorter passing game.

Miami did a good job of keeping Shane Vereen from beating them, which paid off. He is their biggest playmaker at the moment and they would much rather give up shorter passes to Edelman and Amendola than Vereen.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Julian Edelman: Run 0/Tar 11, Shane Vereen: Run 5/Tar 10, Rob Gronkowski: Run 0/Tar 5, Danny Amendola: Run 0/Tar 3, Michael Hoomanawanui: Run 0/Tar 2, Aaron Dobson: Run 0/Tar 1, Josh Boyce: Run 0/Tar 1, Austin Collie: Run 0/Tar 1, Brandon Bolden: Run 2/Tar 0, Stevan Ridley: Run 4/Tar 0, James Develin: Run 1/Tar 0, Tom Brady: Run 2/Tar 0, LeGarrette Blount: Run 7/Tar 0

New York Jets

Santonio Holmes: 8-4-0-5-8 (25) (5), David Nelson: 3-5-8-4-4 (24) (4.8), Bilal Powell: 1-4-5-1-4 (15) (3), Kellen Winslow Jr: 1-4-3-6-1 (15) (3), Jeff Cumberland: 4-2-3-0-4 (13) (2.6), Stephen Hill: 7-1-4-dnp-dnp (12) (4), Jeremy Kerley: dnp-dnp-dnp-7-3 (10) (5), Greg Salas: 2-3-4-0-0 (9) (1.8), Tommy Bohanon: 2-0-0-2-2 (6) (1.2), Chris Ivory: 1-0-1-0-1 (3) (0.6)

Santonio Holmes led the team in targets with eight, but only caught two for 14 yards. Jeff Cumberland led the team in yards receiving with 50 on three receptions. Chris Ivory looked good on just 11 carries for 66 yards, but was vultured by Sheldon Richardson at the goal line. It’s actually amazing that they moved the ball enough to score 20 points on the Panthers.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: David Nelson: Run 0/Tar 6, Stephen Hill: Run 0/Tar 3, Santonio Holmes: Run 0/Tar 3, Jeff Cumberland: Run 0/Tar 3, Bilal Powell: Run 3/Tar 2, Tommy Bohanon: Run 0/Tar 1, Jeremy Kerley: Run 0/Tar 1, Kellen Winslow Jr: Run 0/Tar 1, Josh Cribbs: Run 1/Tar 0, Chris Ivory: Run 7/Tar 0, Geno Smith: Run 1/Tar 0

Oakland Raiders

Rod Streater: 8-9-4-10-9 (40) (8), Andre Holmes: 3-5-11-7-7 (33) (6.6), Marcel Reece: 5-5-4-5-7 (26) (5.2), Mychal Rivera: 6-2-3-8-5 (24) (4.8), Rashad Jennings: 3-5-2-dnp-3 (13) (3.2), Jacoby Ford: 1-1-5-1-1 (9) (1.8), Denarius Moore: 6-dnp-dnp-dnp-2 (8) (4), Jamize Olawale: 0-2-0-4-1 (7) (1.4), Nick Kasa: 0-1-0-0-1 (2) (0.4), Jeron Mastrud: 0-1-0-0-1 (2) (0.4), Darren McFadden: dnp-dnp-1-dnp-dnp (1) (1), Brice Butler: 0-1-dnp-0-dnp (1) (0.3)

Oakland scored 31 points on Kansas City, which is pretty amazing, but of course Kansas City scored 56. Matt McGloin threw four interceptions in pass-first mode, so it’s a good idea not to get him in pass-first mode. He threw the ball the most to Rod Streater, but only could complete four of 10 targets for 59 yards.

The fantasy winner for Oakland was Rashad Jennings who got in on two goal line runs and totaled 103 yards on 26 touches. He has set himself up well to compete with and possibly beat out Darren McFadden for the starting job next season.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Rod Streater: Run 0/Tar 5, Mychal Rivera: Run 0/Tar 3, Marcel Reece: Run 5/Tar 3, Andre Holmes: Run 0/Tar 3, Jacoby Ford: Run 0/Tar 2, Denarius Moore: Run 0/Tar 1, Terrelle Pryor: Run 1/Tar 0, Rashad Jennings: Run 17/Tar 0

Pittsburgh Steelers

Antonio Brown: 13-10-8-9-6 (46) (9.2), Heath Miller: 10-6-9-4-4 (33) (6.6), Le’Veon Bell: 5-5-9-9-5 (33) (6.6), Emmanuel Sanders: 2-7-11-6-6 (32) (6.4), Jerricho Cotchery: 5-1-6-9-3 (24) (4.8), Markus Wheaton: 5-0-0-1-0 (6) (1.2), Will Johnson: 1-1-1-1-0 (4) (0.8), Jonathan Dwyer: 2-2-0-0-0 (4) (0.8), David Paulson: 2-0-0-0-0 (2) (0.4), Matt Spaeth: dnp-dnp-dnp-0-1 (1) (0.5), Felix Jones: 0-1-0-0-0 (1) (0.2)

Ben Roethlisberger completed 20-of-25 passes for 191 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Antonio Brown once again caught five passes. He has yet to dip below five all season. He also caught a touchdown and returned a punt for a touchdown. And after just two touchdowns in the first seven games he now has six in the last seven, not counting the punt return.

Le’Veon Bell continues to piece together good games. In this game he had five targets and caught all five for 50 yards and also ran the ball 24 times for 57 yards and a touchdown. As you can see, his ability in the passing game really pays off in fantasy, and not just in PPR leagues. Since his first game in Week 4 he has averaged 22 touches per game.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Jerricho Cotchery: Run 0/Tar 9, Antonio Brown: Run 0/Tar 6, LeVeon Bell: Run 15/Tar 5, Emmanuel Sanders: Run 0/Tar 5, Heath Miller: Run 0/Tar 3, Will Johnson: Run 0/Tar 2, Matt Spaeth: Run 0/Tar 1, David Paulson: Run 0/Tar 1, Markus Wheaton: Run 0/Tar 1, Ben Roethlisberger: Run 1/Tar 0, Jonathan Dwyer: Run 1/Tar 0

San Diego Chargers

Keenan Allen: 6-12-10-3-5 (36) (7.2), Antonio Gates: 6-8-9-6-3 (32) (6.4), Eddie Royal: 3-4-dnp-4-6 (17) (4.2), Ladarius Green: 5-5-6-1-0 (17) (3.4), Vincent Brown: 6-1-2-4-3 (16) (3.2), Danny Woodhead: 2-4-3-5-1 (15) (3), Ryan Mathews: 2-2-6-4-1 (15) (3), Seyi Ajirotutu: 2-1-0-0-0 (3) (0.6), Ronnie Brown: 0-1-0-1-0 (2) (0.4), John Phillips: 1-1-0-0-0 (2) (0.4), Le’Ron McClain: 0-0-0-0-1 (1) (0.2)

Ryan Mathews was the engine behind the Chargers’ offense in this one as he rushed 27 times for 127 yards and a touchdown. Last week he also rushed 29 times. I don’t think I have to even look up the stats to see if that has happened before; it hasn’t. He had eight first down runs and helped keep Peyton Manning off the field, which is exactly what you have to do to beat him.

Kendall Wright showed once again why he is going to be a star in this league as he caught 12 passes on 20 targets for 150 yards. And he did most of his damage against Patrick Peterson, catching six of seven passes for 96 yards when Peterson was in coverage.

Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 36-of-58 passes for 402 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions and this overtime game. He threw an interception in overtime, but those numbers are fantasytastic, especially against the Cardinals.
