Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys
Thursday, 4:15 p.m. ET, FOX, Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Pam Oliver
Gameplan: Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett doesn't have all the chips he'd like, but that won't stop him from rolling the dice with blitzes and line stunts to cloud Cowboys QB Tony Romo's downfield angles hoping for another turnover buffet. Dallas has offensive line worries aplenty but limited resources without DeMarco Murray (foot) to lean on the ground game. The Redskins lead with the run -- rookies Alfred Morris and Robert Griffin III have 1,482 combined rushing yards and 11 touchdowns -- which is giving RG3 wide throwing lanes downfield. Griffin, sacked 22 times, is more likely to eat the ball than wing it and pray. That approach keeps Washington in most games, with three of their four road losses by four points or less.
Need to know: Romo (21-3, .875) has the best all-time record in November among Super Bowl era quarterbacks with at least 20 starts. ... Griffin has a passer rating of 131.3 on throws of 20-plus yards, but only the 49ers' Alex Smith has fewer 20-plus yard attempts among qualifying quarterbacks.
