On Tuesday, Chivas USA continued their roster makeover with the newest set of Mexican-American players. The moves involved a trade for the rights to sign midfielder Eric Avila and the likes of Supplemental Draft selections Joe Franco and central defender Jose Diaz.
Chivas USA manager José Luis Sánchez Solá (a.k.a. Chelís) explained the club's new player strategy in an interview conducted at the MLS Player Combine in Florida. And he laments the fact that there have been quality Mexican-American players who have slipped through the grasp of Chivas USA over the years, calling it a "tragedy" and comparing it to "having daughters and you don't know where they're sleeping."
