Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Washington Redskins' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.
Griffin finished the week earning just 11.88 fantasy points in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. This week he faces a Carolina Panthers' defense that has given up a total of 106.82 fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. The entire Redskins' offense played poorly last week including 10 dropped passes from the receivers that contributed to his bad numbers. Griffin should rebound this week despite a tough matchup. Look for at least 24.00 fantasy points on the week.
Alfred Morris, RB
Morris finished the week earning just 5.90 fantasy points against the Steelers. This week he faces a Panthers' defense that has allowed a total of 148.50 fantasy points to running backs this season. Morris suffered through the rough week like his fellow offensive members but looks to benefit from a very favorable matchup this week. Look for at least 12.00 fantasy points this week provided he finds the end zone.
Pierre Garcon, WR
Garcon will likely miss this Sunday's matchup with Carolina with Washington's bye week coming up in Week 10. It is possible he will see light work beginning in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fred Davis, TE
In case you have been living under a rock (as some members of my fantasy leagues have been) Davis has been shut down for the season with a torn left Achilles tendon.
Defense
Washington finished the week earning just 1.00 fantasy point against Pittsburgh. This week they face a Carolina team that has given up a total of 69.00 fantasy points to team defense this season. It is a suitable matchup for those who rotate team defense and no better option is available in your league. Look for around 7.00 fantasy points this week.
