The San Diego defense had no answer for Darrel Young as he led the way to, a late victory for the Redskins over the Chargers, 30-24, at home.
Robert Griffin III completed the game 23 for 32 with 291 yards passing, no touchdowns and one pick. On the Chargers side, Philip Rivers went 29 for 46 with 341 yards passing, two touchdowns and two picks.
Alfred Morris was a focal point for the Redskins, running at will on the Chargers for 121 yards on 25 carries with a touchdown. Pierre Garcon was a top receiver, catching seven balls for 172 yards.
The Washington defense struggled to defend the pass, but managed to slow down the run game, giving up 69 yards rushing and 341 passing. They were able to bring down Rivers for one sack.
Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen had a big day with 128 receiving yards and one touchdown. Tight end Antonio Gates also had a good game with 53 receiving yards.
Next week, the Redskins travel to Minneapolis to face the Vikings (1-7) while the Chargers are at home against the Broncos (7-1).
