Roy Helu Jr. led the way to a win for the Redskins over the Bears, 45-41, at home.
Robert Griffin III accounted for two scores against the Bears on 18 of 29 passing for 298 yards and one pick. Josh McCown went 14 of 20 with 204 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions for the Bears.
Helu Jr. was a focal point for the Redskins, running at will on the Bears for 41 yards on 11 carries with three touchdowns. Jordan Reed was a weapon for the offense, catching nine balls for 134 yards with a touchdown.
The Washington defense put forth a solid effort, highlighted by giving up 140 yards rushing and 219 passing while taking back one interception for a touchdown. They got to McCown for two sacks.
Bears running back Matt Forte gave a standout effort with 91 yards rushing, 18 receiving and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery had a good game as well with 105 receiving yards and 16 rushing.
The Redskins head to Denver next week to face the Broncos (6-0) while the Bears go to Green Bay to play the Packers (3-2).
