Warriors F Lee likely to have surgery

Golden State Warriors forward David Lee told NBA.com Sunday that he will likely have surgery after the playoffs to repair his injured hip flexor.

Lee, who sustained the injury during Game 1 of the Warriors' first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets, said he will keep playing. He had 0 points and five rebounds in eight minutes in Sunday's win over the San Antonio Spurs to tie the second-round series 2-2.

The injury was initially announced as ending his season and he would recover through rest and rehab. However, he has played sparingly and surgery is now most likely needed. If he has surgery, he is expected to be ready for the start of next season.
