Warriors C O'Neal has wrist surgery

Golden State Warriors center Jermaine O'Neal underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on Friday to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, the team announced.

O'Neal will begin rehabilitation immediately, but the team released no time table for his expected return.

The 35-year-old veteran hurt the wrist four weeks ago, and he said it has continued to get worse.

O'Neal has appeared in 17 games, including one start, this season. He is averaging 6.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per contest.
