Wade says he never meant to kick Sessions
Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade defended himself against critics who are calling him a dirty player after he was suspended one game by the NBA for kicking Charlotte's Ramon Sessions in the groin area.
Wade, who will sit out Friday night's game against the Detroit Pistons, was not called for a foul on a play that occurred Wednesday night with 8:12 left in the fourth quarter of a game against the Hornets.
"I'm far from being a dirty player, + my intent was never 2 kick Ramon Sessions," Wade said on Twitter. "I just reacted to the contact that I got from him. More than anything, I think of my boys watchin me be4 retaliating 2ward any player."
Sessions was caled for a foul before Wade retaliated with the kick.
"I thought he did it on purpose and it wasn't called," Sessions said after the game.
Wade led the Heat to a 105-92 win over the Bobcats with 29 points.
Heat officials issued a statement, saying they disagreed with the suspension and also complained about how opposing teams have treated Heat players recently.
