LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) -- QJ Peterson scored 20 points to lead a high-scoring Virginia Military team in a 128-54 victory over Division III Washington College on Saturday.
The 74-point victory was the largest in program history for VMI (6-6), which shot 63 percent from the field.
Leading 17-10, VMI pulled away with a 25-8 run on its way to a 70-25 halftime lead. Washington College (3-7) scored just two points over the final 7:40 of the first half.
Covington also had three blocks, becoming the all-time blocks leader at VMI with 203.
Washington College was led by Kevin Cunningham with 11 points and nine rebounds.
The two schools had last met during the 1922-23 season, when Washington College won 26-15.
