Virginia Tech RB jailed on assault charge

Virginia Tech running back Michael Holmes, who was contending for a starting job for the 2013 season, was booked into the Montgomery County jail on two counts of simple assault and one count of malicious wounding, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
According to the report, Holmes was involved in a bar fight.
Virginia Tech has yet to issue a statement regarding Holmes.
Holmes rushed 70 times for 280 yards as a freshman last season, when he led all Virginia Tech running backs with four rushing touchdowns.
