Xavier shot the lights out early, but VCU came up big late to earn a 75-71 victory in an Atlantic 10 basketball game Saturday. VCU's Troy Daniels scored 19 points and broke his own record for three-pointers in a season. He now has 99, breaking the mark of 94 he set last year. Rob Brandenberg added 18 points and Treveon Graham had 17 for VCU (22-6, 10-3). Juvonte Reddic tallied 10 points and nine rebounds. Dee Davis and Brad Redford had 15 points to lead the Musketeers (15-11, 8-5). The Musketeers led 39-26 at halftime, making 14 of 19 shots, but it took less than eight minutes for VCU to tie the game in the second half. The Musketeers, who had turned the ball over 10 times in the first half, gave it away 12 more times in the second half while cooling off from the field (hitting just 9 of 23 shots).
