Villanova guard to transfer

Sophomore guard Achraf Yacoubou informed the Villanova coaching staff that he plans to transfer after the spring semester, the school announced Friday.

Yacoubou averaged 2.9 points in 31 games this season for the Wildcats. His best game came Dec. 8 against Penn when he had 13 points and six rebounds.

"Ash has been a valued member of our Villanova basketball family for two years," Villanova coach Jay Wright said. "He is looking for a more prominent role. We are grateful to Ash for the two outstanding years he spent with us as a member of the Villanova basketball family."

Yacoubou played in 57 games and started three in two seasons, averaging 2.6 points.
