Villa not concerned with Golden Boot
David Villa insists Confederations Cup success with Spain is more important than any individual honors he could win in the tournament.

Following La Roja's 10-0 trouncing of Tahiti in the group stage, Fernando Torres has become the competition's top scorer on four goals while there is a cluster of players on three goals, including Villa and Brazil's Neymar.

But Villa, who is Spain's all-time goalscorer with 56 strikes, says the thought of winning the competition's Golden Boot and beating Torres has not entered his mind.

"Individual awards are good for a player but the most important thing is the group," Villa told reporters. "Torres and I do not think about being the top scorers of the tournament. We want to be champions before anything else.

“We're going into the Nigeria game to win – we want the three points regardless of what that means for the group.

"It is good that Spain has so many strikers. [Del Bosque has] the same 'problem' in other positions too.

"We all want to do well to make it difficult to coach."

Both Villa and Torres will only be able to add to their tally against Nigeria on Sunday if they come off the bench and score, as coach Vicente del Bosque has opted to revert to the team that faced Uruguay in their opening clash.
