In the first meeting for these two teams in week one, the Vikings suffered a defeat, 34-24. Adrian Peterson was superb, reaching the end zone three times on top of 93 yards on 18 carries.
The Vikings are coming off a 42-14 blowout loss against the Bengals, a game in which Erin Henderson was the top player with 12 tackles. In their previous outing, the Lions lost by a slender 23-20 margin versus the Giants. Joique Bell was terrific, reaching pay dirt once in addition to 91 yards on 20 carries.
The Vikings' pass defense surrenders an average of 310.3 yards per game, the worst in the league, and may provide Detroit with a better passing attack.
