Vikings to keep CB Cook, WR Aromashodu

Updated March 25, 2012 @ 4:23 p.m. ET

The Vikings are keeping CB Chris Cook and WR Devin Aromashodu.

Cook, who sat out the final 10 games of last season after being arrested for domestic assault, was recently found not guilty of the assault charges, opening the door for his return to the team.

"We had Chris in the office the other day,” Vikings GM Rick Spielman told the Minneapolis Star Tribune, “and I talked to him and Coach Frazier talked to him. He met with our staff.

"We are very excited about getting Chris Cook back, not only to help us on the football field, but we think Chris Cook is a very good person, and we really believe that he's moving on and going to be a better person."

In two seasons Cook has played in 12 games, starting eight. He has no interceptions, 41 tackles and six passes defensed.

The team has also re-signed free agent Aromashodu, who played in all 16 games for the Vikings last season, his first in Minnesota following three seasons with the Bears. He averaged 18 yards on 26 receptions, with one touchdown.

Earlier in the week, the team signed ex-Colts free-agent FB Jerome Felton and former Dolphins RB Lex Hilliard.

The Vikings tried to claim Felton on waivers six months ago, according to the Star Tribune, but Carolina had priority waiver rights and thus claimed Felton. He played nine games in Carolina and five in Indianapolis last season. In four seasons he has rushed 42 times for 136 yards and has caught 34 passes for 280 yards.

As for Hilliard, Miami chose not to offer him a minimum tender or qualifying offer as a restricted free agent, thus making him an unrestricted free agent on March 13. In three seasons in Miami, Hilliard played in all 48 games but rushed for only 130 yards and two touchdowns.
