Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams is taking a significant pay cut to remain with the team, according to a ESPN 1500 Twin Cities report.
The station reported that Williams will earn $4.9 million this season through a restructuring that will then make him a free agent, rather than $7.5 million each year.
A six-time Pro Bowler, Williams, 32, posted 20 tackles and two sacks last season. The move puts Minnesota $6.9 million under the salary cap heading into the draft.
