Incredible display of strength from South Carolina football player.

Robert Simmons set the West Ashley (Charleston, S.C.) school record for squatting on Tuesday.

The mountainous, 6-foot-3, 370-pounder squatted astonishing 550 pounds, an all-time record for the Class AAAA school.

The West Ashley coaching staff believes that Simmons has a good chance to eventually break the state record of 710 pounds, according to one of Simmons' teammates.

Simmons was a region champion and a state qualifier at the Region Strength Meet.

He was also one of only three freshmen listed on West Ashley's football roster during the fall.
