Free-agent center Ronny Turiaf signed a two-year, $3.2 million with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.
Turiaf, 30, averaged 1.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 65 regular-season games and 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in the playoffs for the Los Angeles Clippers last season.
"We're excited to welcome Ronny to our team," Timberwolves vice president of basketball operations Flip Saunders said. "Ronny is a physical, aggessive defender and a good passer. He's a solid pro who will help us with his experience and veteran leadership."
Turiaf was with the Los Angeles Lakers during his first three seasons in the NBA and has since bounced around with the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat.
The Timberwolves are still attempting to re-sign restricted free agent center Nikola Pekovic. Turiaf, known as a good defender, likely will back up Pekovic next season.
