Veteran Nady moves to Rockies

The Colorado Rockies signed veteran outfielder Xavier Nady to a minor league contract on Sunday.
Nady opted out of a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals to accept the offer from the Rockies. Playing for the Royals' Triple-A Omaha team, Nady was hitting .310 with 11 home runs and 43 RBIs in 70 games this season.
The 34-year-old Nady split time between the Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants last season and batted .184 with four homers and 13 RBIs in 152 at-bats.
He is a career .270 hitter with 101 home runs and 406 RBIs in the major leagues. He also has spent time with the San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks
