BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Hector Harold led Vermont with 18 points Monday night as balanced scoring led to a decisive 88-48 victory over Division III Lyndon State.
Harold shot 8 of 12 from the floor and finished with four steals. Ethan O'Day added 10 points on perfect 5 of 5 shooting, grabbed 11 rebounds and finished with five blocks for the Catamounts (5-8). Dre Willis added 13 points and Sandro Carissimo scored 12.
Vermont jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first half, holding the Hornets scoreless for the first 5:20 of the game until George Carle made a layup. The Catamounts led 45-21 at the break and did not look back.
David Johnson scored 20 points for Lyndon State (2-6), hitting 5 of 7 from behind the 3-point arc. The Hornets made 10 of 21 3-pointers but struggled with their shot overall, finishing at 15 of 54 (28 percent).
