Victor Valdes has potentially played his last Barcelona game after being stretchered off during his side's Liga encounter with Celta on Wednesday.
The Spain international keeper picked up a serious-looking knee injury with little over after 20 minutes played. Valdes dove on a loose ball in the box after failing to clear a free kick from Celta midfielder Fabian Orellana.
He immediately went to ground, clutching his right knee and called for medical aid. After a couple of minutes of treatment on the field, the 32-year-old was taken off the park covering his face, with Jose Pinto replacing him.
Valdes has already announced that he will leave Barcelona in the summer, when his contract expires, and any serious problem could have long-term ramifications for his future as well as meaning he may not feature again for the Catalans.
In addition, it is possible that the shot-stopper's injury jeopardizes his chances of making Spain's World Cup roster this summer.
