SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Devon Agusi scored 28 points as Texas-San Antonio closed out its nonconference schedule with a 64-56 win over Division II Cameron on Tuesday.
Agusi made 5 of 6 free throws during the UTSA's 8-0 run to close out the game. Charles Joy had tied the game for Cameron at 56-56 on a free throw with 2:37 to go.
The Roadrunners (4-8) ended a two-game skid and improved to 5-0 all-time against Cameron, but it was not easy. UTSA fell behind 29-27 before halftime and did not retake the lead until Jordan Sims' 3-pointer put the Roadrunners up 48-47 with 8:34 to play. The teams played back-and-forth over the next 6 minutes.
The Roadrunners shot only 29.8 percent from the field, but made up for it by making 31 of 42 free throws.
Tank Mayberry led the way for Cameron with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Joy added 10 points.
