OREM,Utah (AP) -- Hayes Garrity scored 18 points Thursday night and Ben Aird added 14 as Utah Valley State beat UMKC 66-48 for its fifth straight Western Athletic Conference win.
Holton Hunsaker scored 13 for the Wolverines (11-7, 5-0), Zach Nelson grabbed 12 rebounds and Mitch Bruneel had 11 boards.
Utah Valley State finished shooting 39.7 percent to just 28.1 percent for the Kangaroos (6-12, 3-3).
The lead changed hands eight times until Nelson hit a 3-pointer and a jumper to give Utah Valley a 17-12 lead. Hunsaker hit back-to-back treys and the Wolverines led 34-27 at halftime.
Aird scored Utah Valley's first five buckets of the second half and the Wolverines never trailed. Martez Harrison made it a two-point game with a free throw at 14:09, but the Wolverines used a 20-1 run to lead by 20 points.
Martez Harrison led UMKC with 15 and Caleb Johnson added 10.
